A few days ago, BBC Radio 6 Music invited Arlo Parks to discuss her upcoming album “My Soft Machine.” On this occasion, she mentioned the bands My Bloody Valentine and Fontaines D.C. as an inspiration for her forthcoming album.

“One of my favourite bands is My Bloody Valentine, and I bring a few more of those moments into My Soft Machine. There’s a sense of absolute chaos, and you feel that your ears are falling off, but then there’s this real delicate quality to the lyrics. They’re really sensual and vulnerable, but alongside this wall of sound.”

“I’m actually a massive fan of Deftones and I listen to a lot of noise music, and music with that kind of energy, and Skinty Fia really influenced my record.”

Arlo Parks‘ next album, “My Soft Machine”, is set for release on May 26 via Transgressive Records. Pre-order the album here. She will be on tour in Europe in September. A show at the Ancienne Belgique is scheduled for September 15. Tickets for the show is available on the venue website.
