Kid Kapichi has made significant announcements recently: the band just revealed plans to release their third album, There Goes The Neighbourhood, on 15 March via Spinefarm (Pre-order HERE). Following the album’s release, they will embark on a headline tour across the UK and Europe. Speaking about the new album, frontman Jack Wilson said :
“I know it’s a cliche, but this really is our best work ever. We put everything into this record, but actively decided not to stray too far from the path of Here’s What You Could Have Won, as we felt there was still more ground to be covered and honed in on that vibe. Lyrically and musically, it’s more concise, meaningful, and deliberate, which ties everything together really well; it feels like a collection of songs from the same family.“
In anticipation of the album, Kid Kapichi has also unveiled the single ‘Tamagotchi’.
“’Tamagotchi’ is a song about turning 30 and feeling for the first time like your life is running away from you,. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve found myself being more nostalgic about the past and the ‘good times’. This song is a homage to those times and fond memories whilst stubbornly clawing onto them.”
And finally, regarding the tour scheduled for 2024, the band will commence the tour on 28 March in Brighton, England, and conclude it on 27 April in Prague, Czech Republic. A Belgian date is set for 17 April at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels. Tickets are already available for purchase on the venue’s website.
