As April unfolds, heralding the arrival of spring with its beautiful weather and sunshine, it also marks the beginning of the festival season. However, indoor concerts still abound, and we’ve selected the 10 must-see shows not to be missed this April!
Esprit D’Air – Kavka Oudaan – 01 April
This is a special event for all J-rock fans, because Esprit D’Air will be at the Kavka Oudaan for a unique concert. Re-formed in 2016, Esprit D’Air is a Japanese solo electronic/metal rock project led by singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer Kai (who has also been guitarist for the band Sister of Mercy since 2023). A unique concert you won’t want to miss!
Hammok – Botanique – 02 April
Hailing from the Norwegian hardcore scene, Hammok is quickly gaining recognition as one of Northern Europe’s most eagerly awaited bands, blending noise-rock, post-hardcore, and alternative metal in their sound. The band will be presenting their debut album to their Belgian fans in the pit of the Botanique’s Witloof Bar!
August Burns Red – De Vooruit – 03 April
The city of Gent is on the brink of a metalcore storm in early April! August Burns Red, Dying Wish, and Thrown are poised to unleash extreme breakdowns, powerful lyrics, and electrifying performances, shaking the walls of the Vooruit and blowing out our eardrums. Blind Channel – Kavka Zappa – 05 April
Come to the dark side! One year after opening for I Prevail at Trix, Finnish band Blind Channel return to Belgium with their own headlining tour ‘EXIT EMOTIONS’. Thundercat – Ancienne Belgique – 09 April
Thundercat, also known as Stephen Bruner, has swiftly transitioned from virtuoso bassist to a star, solidifying his reputation as a unique voice that transcends genres. He’ll be coming to the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels for an unmissable show!
Kid Kapichi – Ancienne Belgique – 17 April
After a memorable appearance at the Rock Werchter festival in 2023, Kid Kapichi, from Hastings in the south of England, are back on the road for a world tour, including a stop in Belgium to celebrate the release of their new album There Goes The Neighbourhood. An album rich in sound that will win you over from the very first listen!
Teddy Swims – Trix – 25 & 29 April
With a strong, versatile voice that weaves together elements of R&B, soul, hip-hop, modern day pop and even rock, Teddy Swims began his career posting covers of his favorite songs on social media before he started introducing his own compositions. His stage name came from an acronym for “Someone Who Isn’t Me Sometimes,” reflecting the many facets of his creative personality and may well be an indicator of how divers his shows and his fanbase are. Even 2 sold out shows at Trix, leave a lot of fans hunting for last-minute tickets.
Beyond The Black – Trix – 26 April
Get ready for an epic night of symphonic metal! Beyond the Black is bringing their high-energy performance to the Trix in Antwerp to present their latest self-titled album. But the excitement doesn’t stop there! Opening the show is none other than the alternative metal band Ankor! See you there!
