With a wide range of instruments from a bygone era, including lyres, harps and horns, Wardruna offer innovative interpretations of ancient Nordic traditions. From their debut album in 2009, Wardruna has enjoyed worldwide success, transcending musical genres, cultures and languages. The band has already topped the German and English charts, as well as the North American Billboard World-music chart for several consecutive weeks. Their contribution to the soundtrack of the TV series VIKINGS has brought their music to an even wider audience. After their first trilogy of albums, based on Nordic runes, Wardruna continue to spread Nordic spiritual concepts while evolving musically. Their latest album, ‘Kvitravn’ (2021), focuses on Nordic witchcraft, totem animals and animism. Live, the band take us on a journey through Scandinavian history with a hypnotic blend of penetrating percussion and epic chants.
