NewDad

Hazy, melancholic shoegaze with airy guitars and a magnetic voice

“Confident and propulsive, the shoegaze-pop of this Galway four-piece is a truly rewarding experience.” NME

Following the recent release of their ‘Safe’ EP and announcement of their US and Asian live shows, Galway band NewDad are thrilled to announce an extensive UK, Ireland and European live tour. This will see the band perform across multiple countries in October 2025, building on their growing international audience and bringing their evolved sound to fans.

The beauty and bite of NewDad’s debut album ‘Madra’ made the Galway band one of the biggest new hopes around. Their live performances so far have equally left an indelible mark, including standout sets at Koko, Glastonbury and groundbreaking shows in China and Japan. Vocalist and guitarist Julie Dawson fondly recalls the magic of 1,600 fans singing along in Shanghai, a testament to the band’s global resonance.

The upcoming new live tour is a celebration of NewDad’s journey so far and a showcase of their future. Audiences can expect highlights from their debut album Madra, recent ‘Safe’ EP and the upcoming second album. Their new music marks a bold step forward with a swaggering new self-confidence. In short: their ethereal elements feel more alluring than ever; the visceral moments are more selective and dynamic but hit just as hard; and their songs are simply a leap in sophistication.

The band are particularly excited about playing their new songs live for fans. Adding to the experience, 26-year-old producer Sam Breathwick, aka Shrink, with whom the band collaborated on the ‘Safe’ EP, will be joining the live lineup. He will bring his studio magic to the stage on lead guitar and synths, further expanding NewDad’s ambitious sound.
