Silence at Trix ? Not with The Plot In You !

Barely back from the When We Were Young festival, The Plot In You kicked off their European tour and we had the pleasure of catching them at the Trix in Antwerp for the tour’s second show on November 1st, 2025, marking the start of a series of dates running through November 19th. Joined by Cane Hill, Saosin and Currents, the night promised, but also delivered, an unforgettable experience !

Cane Hill : Shining Through the Midnight Sun

The first band to hit the stage, Cane Hill immediately commanded attention with their high-energy and ethereal sound. Hailing straight from New Orleans, the emerging band delivered a powerful set focused on tracks from their latest album : a piece of me i never let you find (2024). This release marks a turning point in their discography, clearly resonating with the audience !

From the very first notes of Drowning Therapy’, the crowd came together, singing along in unison. With airy melodies, raw screams and melodic passages sang by Elijah Witt (lead vocals) and Elijah James Barnett, Cane Hill proved they are far more than just a support act: a band on the rise, driven by lyrical authenticity and a performance stripped of any pretense.

Setlist : Power of the High – Finding Euphoria – Permanence in Sleep – Drowning Therapy – Fade – I Always Knew We Were Doomed – The Midnight Sun

Saosin : Together Once Again

Following Cane Hill’s set, Saosin seized the stage at Trix for a short but deeply emotional performance. True icons of 2000s post-hardcore and emo, the band delivered a pure moment of nostalgia carried by a selection of seven signature tracks. Highlights included You’re Not Alone’, ‘Seven Years’, and ‘Sleepers, all from their self-titled album Saosin released back in 2006.

The Belgian crowd was clearly thrilled, singing along, raising their arms and smiling at every chorus. Clearly receptive, the band continued to engage with the audience, shouting lines like : “You in the middle, I know you know the lyrics!”, creating a sense of immediacy and connection with the crowd. Meanwhile, despite the years, the chemistry between the band members remains as strong as ever. Their on-stage connection and ease in interacting with the audience made the performance feel even more genuine and heartfelt. Before leaving the stage, Saosin announced they are back in the studio, preparing new material set to release in 2026, news that promises a return stronger than ever !

Setlist : Sleepers – Collapse – Bury Your Head – Voices – You’re Not Alone – It’s Far Better to Learn – Seven Years

Currents : It Only Gets Darker (and we love it !)

The mood shifted once again: after Saosin’s nostalgic post-hardcore set, Currents, a cornerstone of the modern metalcore scene, ignited the Trix with sheer intensity. From the very first notes of Living in Tragedy, the energy was electric : fans erupted with excitement and the first pits opened almost instantly.

The setlist offered a perfect balance between old favorites and fresh material. The band unveiled three brand-new tracks : ‘Rise & Fall’, ‘Making Circles’, and ‘It Only Gets Darker all taken from their brand-new EP All That Follows released just in time for Halloween 2025. These moments of discovery gave even the most seasoned fans a brief chance to catch their breath before diving back into the pit. It was impossible to stand still as Currents tore through some of their most acclaimed tracks from The Death We Seek (2023) and The Way It Ends (2020).

Between crushing breakdowns, the front was covered with crowdsurfers, all cheered on by frontman Brian Wille’s raw energy and presence. Special mention goes to the fan on crutches who managed to surf the crowd several times throughout the set!

Setlist :  Living in Tragedy – Rise & Fall – Remember Me – Guide Us Home – Making Circles – The Death We Seek – It Only Gets Darker – Monsters – Kill the Ache – Better Days

The Plot In You : Feel Nothing, Live Everything

The room suddenly plunged into darkness, with only a few lights flickering between shades of grey and red. Slowly, the stage revealed its setup: a comfy chair, a table, and a small desk lamp creating an intimate corner on the left; a flickering TV glowing above on the right. The atmosphere felt cinematic and strangely personal. Then, without warning, the first notes of Don’t Look Away’ filled the Trix and The Plot In You took the stage to the roar of an already electrified Antwerp crowd.

From that moment on, everything flowed seamlessly. The band crafted a balanced setlist blending songs from their recent Vol. 1, 2, and 3 EPs and with tracks from their album DISPOSE and Swan Song. This mix perfectly captured the band’s evolution going from their early, raw metalcore roots to their more melodic and emotionally charged sound. It’s a transition that feels both deliberate and masterfully executed on set.

The atmosphere inside the Trix mirrored that duality. The pit shifted constantly between calm and vigor with bursts of crowdsurfers carried by the energy of the music. The light show amplified every emotion, transforming each track into a full sensory experience : sometimes cold and introspective, other times more than explosive !

One of the most memorable moments of the night came when Landon Tewers, acoustic guitar in hand, sat in the cozy set corner to perform ‘Silence’. Under dim lights, the crowd held its breath as he sang : “I used to seek violence, but now I use silence as my proper means for attack.” Midway through the song, the full band joined in, amplifying its emotional impact. As the last notes of ‘Silence’ faded, ‘Forgotten’ unleashed a surge of energy that sent the Trix into complete frenzy.

The evening ended with ‘Left Behind’ and ‘FEEL NOTHING’, a perfect ending to a performance where The Plot In You once again proved their ability to turn pain into beauty and fury into cataclysm.

Setlist : Don’t Look Away – Divide – Pretend – Paradigm – THE ONE YOU LOVED – Face Me – NOT JUST BREATHING – Been Here Before – Silence – Forgotten – Spare Me – Closure – Time Changes Everything – Left Behind – FEEL NOTHING

In short, the night at Trix in Antwerp delivered a complete and captivating musical journey from the fiery yet melodic energy of Cane Hill, to Saosin’s post-hardcore nostalgia, the emotional surge of Currents, and finally, the highlight of the evening: The Plot In You’s powerful closing performance. With a refined stage design and a perfect balance between intimacy and intensity, the band showcased not only their musical evolution but also their undeniable mastery of the live experience.
