Long associated with alternative spaces and a heavily anti-governmental stance, the Moscow-born experimental electronic duo IC3PEAK is coming to Brussels on April 21 at La Madeleine!
It’s hard to exactly categorize IC3PEAK‘s sonic identity. Elements of Industrial Music, Trap, Metal, Shoegaze, Electro and so many more are bent into an unstoppable sonic machine driven by an anti-Russian political stance. This experimental approach makes Nastya‘s and Nick‘s project an UFO in the current soundscape: it’s oddly relatable in a harsh way. It doesn’t really matter if you speak Russian or not, it doesn’t really matter what genre you’re a fan of, you’ll find something that will draw you towards IC3PEAK‘s music.
Beyond that, it’s hard to miss the amount of notable collaborations throughout their career. ‘VAMPIR‘ with Bring Me The Horizon‘s Oli Sykes, ‘TRRST‘ with ZillaKami, but also features from Ghostemane, Grimes, Kim Dracula and many more.
Their visual identity is just as striking as their music. Adidas tracksuits and pale white faces are draped over striking, surreal visuals. It’s deeply symbolic and more often than not loaded to the brim with political commentary. Even before the Invasion of Ukraine in 2022, IC3PEAK were attending protests, playing improvised shows to the masses, but were also blasted on speakers during marches and civilian action.
