Varials Release New Album, Where The Light Leaves

Philadelphia metalcore band Varials return with their fourth album, Where The Light Leaves, released on 27 February 2026 via Fearless Records. The record marks the first full-length with vocalist Skyler Conder, alongside Shane Lyons (guitar), Mike Foley (bass), and Sean Rauchut (drums).

The album was introduced with the singles ‘I’ll Find the Dark’ and the title track, both highlighting the band’s blend of hardcore aggression, heavy breakdowns, and groove-driven metal. Lyrically, the title track explores themes of mental struggle and feeling trapped within one’s own mind.

Produced by Josh Schroeder, the album was developed through an experimental writing process involving numerous demos before arriving at the final 13 tracks. The band aimed to keep performances raw and immediate while incorporating new melodic elements alongside their established heaviness.

Following earlier releases Pain Again (2017), In Darkness (2019), and Scars for You to Remember (2022), Where The Light Leaves continues Varials’ exploration of emotionally intense themes within a modern metalcore and hardcore framework.

To support the album, Varials will tour across Europe and the UK from September 18 to October 13, 2026, supporting The Amity Affliction, with Silent Planet & Orthodox. The run includes a Belgian date at Kavka Oudaan on October 7.
