Black Country, New Road

Having become one of the most exciting and acclaimed English rock bands of recent years, Black Country, New Road have just unveiled a new single entitled “Bestie”, heralding the release of their third album, “Forever Howlong”!

Black Country, New Road is one of the pillars of a new generation of British bands rooted in experimental post-punk, characterized by sprechgesang – or “talk song” – vocals. Formed in 2018 in Cambridgeshire, the seven-piece band quickly caught the attention of connoisseurs.Isaac Wood, Lewis Evans, Tyler Hyde, Charlie Wayne, May Kershaw, Luke Mark and Georgia Ellery landed on the international scene with their debut release in early 2021.

“For The First Time” blends piano, guitars, strings and brass in the service of deep, romantic lyrics. This first opus proved to be an instant hit, earning a nomination for the prestigious Mercury Prize.
With “Ants From Up There” (2022), the septet is now inspired by minimalist sound, but also by indie folk a la Pulp or The Divine Comedy.BC,NR’s success continues to win over critics and audiences alike. However, this release was marked by the departure of Isaac Wood, so Black Country, New Road decided to continue the journey as a six-piece. From now on, the voices of Tyler Hyde, May Kershaw and Lewis Evans will shape the new identity of the English band.
Today, it’s a new single, “Bestie”, and above all the announcement of their third album, “Forever Howlong”, that has us shivering with pleasure. This totally different, extremely ambitious and singular record proves once again that none of their albums resembles the previous one, while affirming that nobody composes or plays music like them.
