You may have seen Coco Jones on the big screen because she’s been acting in films and on television since she was a teenager. You may also have seen her on the small screen because, with nearly 2 million followers on TikTok, she campaigns for better representation of talented black women.
But you should especially hear her, because the multi-talented Coco Jones finally launched her music career a few years ago.
In 2022, she signed to High Standardz/Def Jam and released the What I Didn’t Tell You EP, featuring the lead single ‘ICU’, which has since gone platinum. In 2024, she was nominated for no fewer than five Grammy Awards, including the coveted Best New Artist, and won the Grammy for Best R&B Performance with ‘ICU’.

Her R&B is soulful, honest and narrative, and her experience as an actress clearly helps her to convey emotions and stories in her songs. Although she’s still young, you get the feeling she’s been at it for a long time.
