Flying Horseman – Louis Evrard
Flying Horseman is a unique musical collective from Antwerp that, since 2010, has been hypnotising headphone junkies and concertgoers alike with their most original, cinematic rock. Frontman Bert Dockx (Dans Dans) draws the listener in with his deeply felt vocals and fiery plucking of the strings. Loesje and Martha Maieu provide layers of spooky backings and lo-fi synths. The new rhythm section, with Louis Evrard and Max Dobbertin, is adventurous and deeply groovy in surprising ways.
After a long break, Flying Horseman is back with ANAESTHESIA. It’s an urgent and impassioned album packed with art rock, hazy psychedelia, and cosmic folk. Their seventh release is a wild, fascinating, high-voltage brew: dark and furious, yet rich in color, imagination, and finesse – all laced with a sharp political (read: anti-fascist) edge.
The first singles ‘Engines’, ‘Anaesthesia’ and ‘Altered States’ are out now and the album will be released on September 12 via Unday Records
