Glass Animal
After thrilling the entire world with their mega hit ‘Heat Waves’ in 2020, Glass Animals announce their comeback in 2024! The Oxford-based quartet are already raising tempers with a new single, ‘Creatures In Heaven’. Now the band has revealed the dates of their brand new international tour, and Belgium is on the cards! Glass Animals await you with their new album and all their hits on 16 October at Forest National.
In three albums, this indie music phenomenon, under the masterful leadership of Dave Bayley, has established itself as one of the leading bands of the international scene. In 2014, they made a soft landing with ‘Zaba’, a mesmerising debut album with an unmistakable groove and a hypnotic mix of raw percussion and sweaty electro. Situated between Alt-J, Wild Beasts and Massive Attack, Glass Animals hit the right chord, but were not prepared for what awaited them.
Two years later, the English band surprised everyone with ‘How to Be a Human Being’. The album was praised by critics, nominated for the Mercury Prize and gave the band unanimous credibility. Glass Animals thus earned their place on the international stage.
Their stroke of genius came in 2020 with their third album, ‘Dreamland’, on which Dave added an unprecedented autobiographical dimension, backed by powerful synth crescendos and, above all, an emblematic song, ‘Heat Waves’, that would take the world by storm. The result: more than 12 million records sold, nominations at the Brit Awards and Grammy Awards and 5 weeks in a row the No 1 position in the Billboard 100 – a first for a British single since ‘Wannabe’ by the Spice Girls in 1995, and a passport to fame. Dave, Drew, Edmund and Joe are now back with ‘I Love You So F***ing Much’, a fourth album with a seventies touch, of which the first single, ‘Creatures In Heaven’, gives a promising taste. Glass Animals will be at Forest National on 16 October. An epic live trip you must have experienced!
