NAS
After recently thrilling the Lokerse Feesten audience with a killer set, Nas is adding more dates to his European tour this autumn to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his iconic ‘Illmatic’ album. The king of New York hip-hop will be performing at the Cirque Royal in Brussels on 28 October.
With an average of one new album every two years, Nas now boasts a powerful discography of seventeen impeccable studio albums. Each of his albums is a personal, committed work, a straightforward testimony to the reality of his life in New York in the ‘90s. His lyrics, written with a scalpel, are impressively powerful and emotionally charged, and produced by an exceptionally talented dream team (DJ Premier, Large Professor, Q-Tip, etc.). Nas established himself on the international scene as the undisputed master of New York hip-hop back in 1994 with the release of his first album, Illmatic. Often imitated, never equalled, this album is probably the one that most revolutionised the genre, rightly establishing itself as one of the greatest hip-hop records of all time. The 30th anniversary of its release is being celebrated in style with an international tour, the European leg of which kicks off in Helsinki on 22 October. Rediscover this legendary work live, and come and vibrate to the sound of gems such as ‘N.Y. State of Mind’, “The World is Yours”, “It Ain’t Hard to Tell” and many more. You won’t want to miss this legendary concert on 28 October at the Cirque Royal.
