The Darkness

The iconic British rock band, known for their world hit “I Believe In A Thing Called Love,” is more popular than ever. A video showing Taylor Swift enthusiastically singing along to that 2003 hit during the US Open recently went viral on social media. The result? More than two decades after its release, a whole new generation is learning the catchy song and the song is shooting back to the top of charts worldwide.

Those who have been dreaming of a new The Darkness album are in luck, because March is finally here. The band will release their eighth studio album, “Dreams On Toast,” on March 28. According to the band themselves, the album will be “a lavish display of sonic delights and a platter full of legendary hits.” Lead single “The Longest Kiss,” which you can already listen to, is certainly a demonstration of this. It is an upbeat pop classic, paying tribute to pop geniuses of the 1970s, such as Queen and Paul McCartney.

“You know that thing when God’s breath tickles your soul and tells you to create? God might not be the power she once was, but say what you like about her, she knows damn well that what the world needs now, is rock sweet rock. And who are we, mere mortals of extraordinary ability, to argue with the divine?” – Singer Justin Hawkins

The Darkness is ready to go on tour again and in absolute top form! They have an unparalleled live reputation, so missing their show on September 30 at Ancienne Belgique is totally not an option!
