The Kills
Back with a sixth album after seven years of silence!
The wait is finally over! After seven years of silence, The Kills are back with a sixth album and a new tour, which also makes a stop in Brussels. ‘God Games’, announced last summer and featuring singles ‘New York’, ‘LA Hex’ and ‘103’, marks a return at the highest level for the iconic American-British duo. Guitars and glamour, a combination that still works!
Some couples are made to last forever, and The Kills are living proof of that. Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince have been guaranteeing classics with their garage rock vibes with blues and electronic influences since 2003, when they released their first album ‘Keep On Your Mean Side’. The world was introduced to lo-fi garage rock, with drum machines replacing the drums and Mosshart’s catty voice blending perfectly with Hince’s fuzz guitar. Over the course of their albums, the duo set the tone for an era and a genre, made their mark in the eyes of many fans and even redefined 21st-century rock. They reached an ever-growing audience, especially thanks to ‘Blood Pressure’, released in 2011. At the same time, Alison Mosshart was involved in a number of collaborations, such as with The Dead Weather and Jack White, before reuniting with her partner in crime for “Ash & Ice”, released in 2016. The fifth album was a huge success and was unanimously praised by critics and fans alike. Now it’s time for The Kills to pick up where they left off with new album “God Games”, which blows a wind around nostalgia with layers of synths and distortion, compelling melodies on a bed of melancholy. The album was produced by Paul Epworth (Lana Del Rey, Adele, Paul McCartney…) and recorded in London in a church converted into a recording studio. The Kills are ready to see their Belgian fans again and present their new album.
