As much as we love talking about the international superstars, the real good stuff is hidden in the undergrounds of our beloved cities. Lain Fallow is exactly that, a 4-piece founded in Brussels but not quite Brusseleir, rehearsing in an old icemaking basement. Their sound is like a love letter to everything remotely emo, punk, hardcore and anything in-between. Every song they play oozes with that 2000s nostalgia when everything was simpler – no job, no worries, just looking forward to the local gig on the week-end.
What started as a small 4-song EP called The Path Less Chosen set to be killed prematurely by a come-and-go life many expats have lived has now grown into a full-blown project. And guess what? They thankfully didn’t stop at just that. Since the start of the year Lain Fallow has been slowly cooking up a potential 2026 full-length record, releasing a first single at the start of 2025 called ‘Winning Culture‘.
And here we are today, Wednesday the 5th of November, discovering a second single called ‘Yet Again’. It hooks you in from those first guitar strums and keeps you in with what sounds like their post pop punk release for the moment. It’s short but efficient, no dilly dallying, it get straight to the point of what their take on this mishmash of alternative sounds like. The backing vocals repeating “Get me, you’re never gonna get me” are infectious and stick to your eardrum like that old chewing gum petrified under a school desk.
We’re so hyped by whatever the future reserves for these guys! Their old-meets-new, nostalgia-meets-modern sound is so catchy it’s hard to not play their short discography on loop.
