Review
Fearless Records’ heavy post-hardcore band Capstan have come out with a new EP named nulla. . Since their debut in 2015, this Florida-based band has been mastering the art of crafting emotionally charged songs.
‘Arrow’ and ‘Bloom‘, the opening tracks, act as a magical portal into Capstan’s world. Their lyrical wizardry sets the stage for a personal adventure, inviting listers to navigate from shadows to a brighter, more vibrant soundscape. The party truly kicks into high gear with tracks like ‘Heart to Heart’ and the epic ‘Bête Noire’. Capstan doesn’t hold back, infusing melodic riffs, raw vocals and a dash of beautiful violin sections in ‘Bête Noire’.
This isn’t your run-of-the-mill EP: it’s a finely tuned playlist where Capstan masterfully tweaks their signature sound. It’s like they’re saying. “Life might throw some traumas your way, but we’ve got the tunes to turn that chaos into something beautiful”.
I couldn’t help but wish fore more – more tracks, more twists and especially more of those hard-hitting bangers that had me hooked! Each track of nulla. felt like a tantalizing appetizer, leaving me yearning for a more extended feast of Capstan’s sound.
In a nutshell, nulla. Left me hungry for more of Capstan’s sound. Here’s to hoping that the band has a few more tricks up their sleeves, ready to unleash an extended version with an extra dose of those hard, adrenaline-pumping jams.
