Arlo Parks

This 22-year-old artist has been thrilling us since the release of her debut album “Collapsed In Sunbeams” (2021). Anaïs Oluwatoyin Estelle Marinho, aka Arlo Parks, is back today with a new single “Weightless” and a second album entitled “My Soft Machine”, due for release in May 2023. To further mark the start of the new year, and begin a new chapter in her life, Arlo Parks has also announced her forthcoming European tour, which will include a stop in Brussels!

At just 20 years of age, this golden-voiced artist has taken over the neo-soul scene and single-handedly symbolizes the groove revival of the British scene. Poet, singer and producer, her lyrics are sincere, powerful and touch hearts without concessions. Her beautiful story began in 2018 with her first single “Cola”. A skilful blend of pop, soul and r&b sounds that impresses with its elegance and maturity. She recounts her daily life as a teenager, loneliness, relationships and her quest for identity. After a few more tracks and two EPs, she released “Hurt”, followed by her debut album in January 2021. Twelve fascinating, delicately chiseled tracks. Success was immediate. The album garnered a host of nominations, including the Mercury Prize 2021. The young artist was also awarded Best New Artist at the Brit Awards 2021. In early 2022, Arlo Parks released the single “Softly”, with its groovy, silky, warm rhythms. But it was not until the autumn of 2023 that the young Englishwoman announced the long-awaited arrival of her second album. The icing on the cake is a new international tour, which will be stopping off at the AB on Friday September 15!

The event is finished.
