Depeche Mode
Dave Gahan and Martin Gore have some very special news to announce! The now legendary band has announced the release of a new album entitled “Memento Mori” for 2023 and in parallel a big world tour! On Saturday 20 May 2023, Depeche Mode will perform on the Sportpaleis stage in Antwerp.
The Memento Mori Tour will be Depeche Mode’s 19th tour and the first in over five years. The previous one – the Global Spirit Tour of 2017-2018 – was the longest and most profitable tour in the band’s history, with a sold-out Sportpaleis twice and a total of 130 concerts that gathered more than 3 million fans. There is a great appetite to see the fans again and to present them with new material.
Speaking about the 15th studio album, ‘Memento Mori’, which will be released in the spring by Columbia Records, Martin Gore said: “We started working on this project at the beginning of the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by that time. After Fletch passed away, we decided to continue because we’re sure it’s what he would have wanted, and it really gave the project an extra dimension. Dave Gahan added: “Fletch would have loved this album. We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon, and we can’t wait to bring it to you live at next year’s shows.
Depeche Mode remains a constantly evolving and extraordinarily influential musical force. An indelible inspiration to fans, critics and artists alike. The Memento Mori album and tour represent the next chapter in an unparalleled and ongoing legacy.
