Explosions In The Sky

It’s finally here! Explosions In The Sky is coming to The Roma this fall. Get ready for an intoxicating musical trip with one of the most passionate and intense instrumental bands in our universe.

Explosions in the Sky broke through in the early 2000s with such phenomenal records as How Strange, Innocene (2000), Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Live Forever (2001) and, of course, the immortal The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place (2003), of which the stunning Your Hand In Mine is still their biggest hit. Along with contemporaries and kindred spirits such as Mogwai, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, This Will Destroy You and 65daysofstatic, the post-rock band from Texas managed to convey the most beautiful and powerful emotions without words. From beautiful, fragile passages to deafening noise storms and back again.

After a five-year silence, Explosions In The Sky suddenly appeared back on the scene in 2016 with the crushing comeback record The Wilderness. That proved that the quartet had lost nothing of its power and quality. Successor Big Bend also showed that Explosions In The Sky is back at it’s very best. After their unfortunately canceled show in 2020, Saturday, November 11, 2023 promises to be a very special night at De Roma.

Support will be provided by the mysterious TAKH, the unique collaboration between the members of The Black Heart Rebellion and Annelies Van Dinter. Be on time!
