Lover’s Skit + Dog Race + MYNK

LOVER’S SKIT

Lover’s Skit biography  Lover’s Skit is a dynamic duo composed of Nathalia Aránguiz and Ove Jerndal, both 19-year-olds born and raised in Stockholm.

Coming from a musical background, they have been actively collaborating as a group for three years. Initially, their focus was primarily on fashion and style, but they eventually ventured into making music and performing live shows at their local youth center before turning 18. Since then, they’ve had the opportunity to perform at established Swedish venues like Stockholm’s Debaser Strand, Riche, Brillo, and Yaki-Da in Gothenburg.

Lover’s Skit is characterised by their infectious, energetic, and in-your-face style, all wrapped up in sharp fashion sense and tongue-in-cheek confidence. They aim to make you move and be moved by their music, which draws influence from a wide range of genres and playfully juggles with musical history. Listeners can catch glimpses of 90s breakbeat heroes like The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, and Fatboy Slim, as well as rowdy indie bands such as Wet Leg and Le Tigre.

In June 2023, the band self-released their debut EP. Their live performances have garnered them a well-deserved reputation, and Nathalia’s boundless energy extends far beyond the stage. This year, they’ve graced the stages of established Swedish festivals like Way Out West, Storsjöyran, and Åre Sessions. They made waves with their two performances at the by:Larm festival in Oslo, Norway, in September and absolutely killed it at their first-ever headline show at Hus 7 in their native Stockholm in October as well as impressing the London crowd at The Shacklewell Arms for their first ever UK show in November.

DOG RACE

London five-piece Dog Race unleash their latest single ‘It’s The Squeeze’, a cold-sweat invocation of modern anxieties and personal suffocation. Already, Dog Race have invited intrigue around their name on the live circuit after performances supporting Fat Dog, Maruja, Voka Gentle, Nuha Ruby Ra, Olso Twins and Slap Rash, in addition to gracing the stage at Visions Festival. Their previous singles found champions in the likes of The Line of Best Fit, Clash, Notion, Dork and So Young, as well as BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6. The impression they left is well-captured by Jack Saunders: “Wild, that thing, isn’t it?””

MYNK

MYNK are a London-based band who discovered their sound remotely via bedroom demos before teaming up with producer and frontman Faris Badwan (The Horrors, Cat’s Eyes) and Max Heyes (Primal Scream, Massive Attack) to record their debut EP ‘PLEASER’. MYNK draw from a wide range of both audio and visual art, from minimalist pop to Lynchian nightmares – resulting in a visceral combination of pop-noir melancholia. ‘PLEASER’ touches on various themes; self-preservation, masochism and hopeless idolisation – a romance of self-sabotage under the guise of aiming to please.
