NIGHT BEATS – HOWLIN’ JAWS – TUESDAY VIOLENCE

NIGHT BEATS

Born in Texas but based in Los Angeles, Danny Lee Blackwell performs under the name Night Beats. He creates his tracks in the same way as a jigsaw puzzle. He takes as his starting point a creative spark that gives him goose bumps. From there, he does everything he can to create a song. When that doesn’t work, he looks for the next spark, always searching for the perfect starting point for a song.

Blackwell is at his best on his new album ‘Rajan’. With catchy melodies and hypnotic rhythms, underpinned by subtle choices that can only be the result of hours of work in the studio, he creates his strongest songs to date. The album is somewhere between a western soundtrack and a psych-pop opus. It’s a defining work in Night Beats’ career, revealing much about his artistic vision, but also leaving his mysterious side intact.

HOWLIN’ JAWS

It might be hard to believe, but Howlin’ Jaws, a French band from the 21st century, was formed in 2015 and claims musical influences from 60s rock’n’roll, and more specifically from the Kinks and the Beatles.

After a debut album indelibly imbued with the music made almost 6 decades earlier, the most English-speaking of the French are back in 2023 with their third full-length: ‘Half Asleep Half Awake’.

Recorded in London at Liam Watson’s Toe Rag Studios (White Stripes), this second album sounds even more accomplished and adventurous, propelling the band into a much more psychedelic sphere.

The music is reminiscent of ‘Revolver’ and its experimentation with sound. From ballads to hysteria, Howlin’ Jaws continue their adventure, embracing their modern sound.

An explosive concert in store, sure to please young and old alike.

TUESDAY VIOLENCE

Tuesday Violence is a garage-punk trio from Ghent and Brussels. Their energetic, disconcerting, sixties-influenced music packs a punch! They’ll be playing in Brussels for the first time since their first tour in California!

The band is made up of Deveney, with his primitive, explosive drums and angry screams. Crystal, with her vibrant, heady Philicorda and powerful, melodic vocals. And last but not least, Niels, with his fuzz guitar, dirty and distorted, guaranteed to send you into a frenzied dance frenzy! Their first 5-track album was released in April 2023 and their full-length album is due out in 2024.

The event is finished.
