Energetic beats and a stirring mix of soul, hip-hop and funk. Anyone who has seen Nneka at work knows that her talent and enthusiasm burst from the stage. That the German with Nigerian roots has a hell of a voice has been known since her breakthrough in 2005 with The Uncomfortable Truth, a collaboration with DJ Farhot. Since then, she has been frolicking across the stage with her swinging raggae vibes and cheerful looks. Comparisons with Lauryn Hill, M.I.A. and Selah Sue are never far away.

Inspired by music legends such as Fela Kuti and Bob Marley, Nneka already attracted attention at a young age. An artist with a message, symbol of black power. When your heart is as big as your afro’, she describes herself with a wink. Just like her great examples Mos Def (Yasiin Bey) and Lauryn Hill, Nneka does not shy away from controversy.
