Spanish Love Songs

– Presenting their new album “No Joy”

Since forming in LA in 2013, Spanish Love Songs’ cult following has quietly snowballed, thanks to a series of critically acclaimed albums steeped in unflinching lyricism and thematic depth. Frontman Dylan Slocum’s songwriting deftly balances between existential dread and cultural critique, a tightrope act that has resonated deeply with fans across the world. The band’s latest album, “No Joy,” released through Pure Noise Records, expands their emotional palette beyond the familiar ramen-stained sweater of melancholy, offering what Slocum calls their “most joyous collection of material” yet.

While fans might have expected more of the band’s signature angst, especially in the wake of a pandemic, “No Joy” pivots toward a new maturity and introspection. Produced by Collin Pastore and mixed by Carlos de la Garza, the album finds Spanish Love Songs grappling with a complex modern age—its challenges, its heartaches, but also its small moments of peace. According to Slocum, the album is about “finding happiness in your current moment,” a message as vital as it is timely.

The event is finished.
