She herself describes her music as “Bob Seger meets Enya,” an unusual combination of styles at first glance, but let her music play out of the speakers for a moment and you immediately understand what she means. Los Angeles-based artist Natalie Mering aka Weyes Blood is an American singer, songwriter and musician.

Mering grew up singing in gospel and madrigal choirs before miraculously learning to play guitar at age eight. Her background – combined with her love of jazz, filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky and scholar Joseph Campbell – shaped her music, which tells stories of both ancient and modern myths.
