yeule is the cyber-pop avatar of multidisciplinary artist Nat Ćmiel, 26. The Anglo-Singaporean non-binary artist, performer and musician will be back at the Botanique to present their new album entitled “softscars”, an album that explores themes of humanity in a context of technological immersion, fusing the influences of alternative rock and contemporary digital culture. Gone are the ethereal electronic soundscapes of their previous albums “Glitch Princess” (2022) and “Serotonin II” (2019), yeule once again surprises us with pop-punk melodies, expressive vocals and intense 90s-infused guitar riffs. Called the best new musical release by Pitchfork, “softscars” helps us overcome our digital angst with a nostalgia imbued with starry synths.
