Last Sunday Trix was turned into ground zero as The Hell is here, hell is home tour found its conclusion.
Big riffs, big energy, BIG ASS EVERYTHING
This brutal night kicked off with the first ever performance on Belgian soil by BIG ASS TRUCK, a band that has been making waves in the USA.
Even though not many people were there at first, the band from Inland Empire was ready to give its all. The mosh pit went wild as soon as they started playing the first song called ‘BEEF‘.
Things got even more intense during the next song, as more people jumped into the mosh pit. It seemed like they were coming ‘FROM THE GRAVE‘.
Newest release ‘PUSHED BEYOND THE BRINK‘ really hit hard, and beer loving fans went totally crazy to ‘BIG ASS BEER‘. Just like a good beer has different flavors the song had different layers, from super groovy parts to really fast guitar riffs, explosive drumming, and powerful singing.
‘CORN-FED‘ was a test to see who in the crowd knew the band before this tour.
The set concluded in their ‘BIG ASS TRUCK‘ , flattening anyone in their way.
Seeing BIG ASS TRUCK live, making their first appearance in Belgium, was an awesome experience. Really looking forward to hear the truck again.
Setlist: BEEF – FROM THE GRAVE – PUSHED BEYOND THE BRINK – BIG ASS BEER – CORN‑FED – BACK‑WHEEL STOMP – BIG ASS TRUCK
Double trouble with PSYCHO-FRAME
The place started filling up as Florida based deathcore band PSYCHO-FRAME kicked off their heavy set on the tunes of ‘STILL WATER SALVATION‘. It was cool to see two vocalists on stage, perfectly interacting with each other in their own unique ways.
They played an older tune ‘THE PLOT TO NUKE THE MIDWEST‘ which totally nuked the mosh pit at Trix. ‘BLUEPRINTS FOR IDOL GENOCIDE‘ really got the crowd going wild. Colter Adams, the singer in the hoodie announced his favorite song ‘NO REVIVES‘ which made the pit even crazier.
The next song called ‘I WON’T BE THERE TO WATCH YOU GO‘ got fans jumping onto the stage.
With just three minutes left, they dropped one of their heaviest tracks ‘24 HOURS LEFT‘ turning the mosh pit into a total war zone.
There was no way of stopping PSYCHO-FRAME. The whole set felt like a non-stop assault with a machine gun firing at 1000 rounds per minute.
Setlist: STILL WATER SALVATION – THE PORTAL – THE PLOT TO NUKE THE MIDWEST – BLUEPRINTS FOR IDOL GENOCIDE – DRAGGING NAZARENE – NO REVIVES – I WON’T BE THERE TO WATCH YOU GO – 24 HOURS LEFT
Fast riffs and double bass blastbeats
As they fired their vocalist right before the tour, it was unsure if they were able to continue this venture. Luckily Adam Mercer stepped in to help out the British deathcore veterans. Adam was vocalist of the band A Wake in Providence and currently does vocals for the band DEATH STROKE.
Deathcore fans could also notice René Gerbrandij sitting behind the drums, exclusively trading in his spot behind the Distant drum kit for this tour.
Ingested kicked off with ‘Nefarious Tongues‘ and ‘Altar of Flesh‘ which saw heated action in the mosh pit. Some might say the mosh pit was a ‘Merciless Reflection‘ of the great performance they put up.
Adam could really show off his deep and gutteral screams in the older, fan favorite song called ‘Pantheon‘. After taking the time to thank European fans for an amazing tour, they continued with more old stuff: ‘Invidious‘ briefly turned the mosh pit into a circle pit.
The band wrapped up their set powerfully with the OG Ingested song ‘Cremated Existence‘, dating back to 2009. This song allowed drummer René to show his A-game hitting the double bass rapidly.
Setlist: Nefarious Tongues – Altar of Flesh – Merciless Reflection – Pantheon – Better Off Dead – Impending Dominance – Invidious – Cremated Existence
Bodysnatcher aka conductors from hell
Bodysnatcher started their first headlining set on Belgian soil with a huge drum hit during ‘The Maker‘ which pushed everyone in the mosh pit back, really showing off their ‘Wired for Destruction‘ vibe.
With the more groovy song ‘Black of My Eyes‘ the band encouraged stage dives. Kyle Medina, vocalist for the band shouted “For this next song I need 10,000 stage dives” as they started playing ‘Dead Rabbits‘. The mosh pit got really wild, though not many people actually made it onto the stage.
Moshers went absolutely nuts during one of the massive breakdowns in ‘Infested‘.
Shouting the promising lyrics “I see a fucking crime scene in your future” time had finally come to hear their newest song ‘Violent Obsession‘ live, and everyone clearly loved it.
The next track ‘Murder8‘ kicked off with a groovy two-step part before going back to the signature brutal sound Bodysnatcher is loved for.
They continued their set with two older songs. They once again tried to get stage dives going during ‘Twelve/Seventeen‘ and this time it worked well. It was 2018 song ‘Open Wounds‘ that really hyped up the long-time Bodysnatcher fans.
There was this amazing moment when a mom and her son crowd-surfed together, making everyone cheer.
Sticking to the idea of saving the best for last, the band finished the concert and their European tour with ‘King of the Rats‘ , a song everyone present knew.
Sadly the song got cut short right after the brutal opening line “What’s up, bitch? Fuck you! It’s too fucking late. Weakness is engrained into your being. We all finally see you. Nothing but an insecure coward”.
A fan got badly injured in the mosh pit which forced the band to stop playing.
Setlist: The Maker – Wired For Destruction – Behind the Crowd – Black of My Eyes – Dead Rabbit – Infested – Blade Between the Teeth – Take Me To Hell – Violent Obsession – Murder8 – Twelve/Seventeen – Open Wounds – King of the Rats
The hell is here, hell is home tour hit hard, bringing together some of the finest deathcore bands.
