Born Of Osiris and Attila co-headlining the Angels & Villains tour

Born Of Osiris Attila Trix 2024

Intimate warzone

18h50, I was waiting in front of an empty stage in Trix (Club) when all of a sudden I heard music blasting behind me. Surprisingly, Crown Magnetar was opening this tour on the small stage in front of the bar.

Crown Magnetar clearly stated from the beginning of the set what their band is all about: heavy breakdowns, gutterals and lots of pig squeals!

First song on their setlist, ‘Saprophytic‘ presented such a heavy breakdown that it felt like vocalist Dan Tucker grabbed a machine gun and fired at us; a true assault on the ear drums (in a good way).

For ‘Everything Bleeds‘ , Dan asked to open up the mosh pit… and he got exactly what he asked for! Last song of this heavy assault was ‘Black Lotus‘ which got the fans hyped!

Setlist: Saprophytic – Full Spectrum Hatred – Everything Bleeds – The Level Beneath – God Is My Enemy – Black Lotus

AVIANA

Compared to the beasts in Crown Magnetar, it was a change to have AVIANA on stage.

Although AVIANA still brings heavy music, their music is filled with more melody and groove.

Starting off with ‘Rage‘ , AVIANA got on stage ready to blow everyone away.

Compared to previous songs, ‘My Worst Enemy‘ and ‘Retaliation‘ got the tempo up a bit.

Retaliation‘ was a good opportunity for vocalist Joel Holmqvist to call upon the fans and ask everyone to get down before it kicked in.

It got heavier again with ‘Oblivion‘ which resulted in the first wall of death of the evening.

Next song ‘Anomaly‘ showcased the amazing clean vocals of Joel Holmqvist.

Setlist: Rage – Illuminate – My Worst Enemy – Retaliation -Oblivion – Anomaly – Obsession

Atlanta Kings

Next up Attila, a band from Atlanta, Georgia that does not need introduction: They are known for combining heavy music and rap seamlessly.

When the first song hit, the moshers clearly stated the mosh pit was going to be the ‘Proving Grounds‘ for making this an epic concert.

At the end of another classic ‘Three 6‘ , vocalist Fronz took the time to welcome all newbies to the f*cking family and made sure there were no rules at an Attila concert. Classic Fronz!

Three 6‘ was seamlessly followed up with ‘Party With The Devil‘ which got the fans singing loudly ‘Six, six, six, party with the devil b*tch!’

The set got more groovy with songs as ‘Metalcore Manson‘ and ‘Bite Your Tongue‘. Fronz was joined on stage by Atlanta friend LiveLikeSage for ‘Handshakes With Snakes‘, which was a nice twist!

Longtime Attila fans got excited when Fronz dedicated the song ‘Payback‘ to the real OGs. It definitely was a pleasure to hear them play this song live one more time!

The party continued in the ‘Moshpit‘ until it finally was time to hear the new song live!

… Tick tick timebomb! Let me tell you, this was amazing! With the new song ‘Timebomb‘ they clearly proved they are not only capable of delivering heavy breakdowns, groovy tunes and slamming rap lyrics but this song also proved that Fronz can actually sing!

I am curious what Attila will be like 5 years from now, for sure!

‘I’m a bad motherf*cker, not a f*cking role model’ that’s how a great concert found its closure with another classic banger called ‘About That Life‘.

Setlist: Proving Grounds – Three 6 – Party With The Devil – Metalcore Manson – Bite Your Tongue – Handshakes With Snakes – Middle Fingers Up – Payback – Moshpit – Timebomb – Cancelled – About That Life

Born Of Osiris

It has been a while since we have seen Born Of Osiris on the stage in Belgium, but they were back.

Born Of Osiris is known for more groovy, djenty and technical music which is not for everyone’s taste. Probably that was the reason a part of the crowd left as soon as Attila has left the stage.

Anyways, Born Of Osiris delivered a great show for those who stayed!

The song ‘Threat of Your Presence‘ got some fans crowd surfing. One of them made his way to the front and got pulled on stage by vocalist Ronnie Canizaro himself.

A bit later things got weird when Ronnie had to convince a fan in the crowd that the headless guitar of Lee McKinney was actually real! This fan really couldn’t get his mind around it…

While singing the lyrics to ‘Empires Erased‘ vocalist of the band, Ronnie Canizaro stage dived and got carried high around the room by fans.

Next song ‘Poster Child‘ resulted in a crowd surf galore which ended with amazing drum and guitar solos.

Oathbreaker‘ got the metalheads moving and produced a big circle pit pushing all the way back to the sides of the room.

Then it was time for their newest song ‘A Mind Short Circuiting‘, the mosh pit got crazy!

To end this night they chose to play one of the older songs ‘Machine‘ which got the fans really excited!

Setlist: White Nile – Rosecrance – Threat of Your Presence – Abstract Art – Empires Erased – Poster Child – Angel or Alien – Torchbearer – Divergency – Open Arms to Damnation – Oathbreaker – A Mind Short Circuiting – Bow Down – Brace Legs – Machine
