Oi Boys, French-style nonchalance

Spiritual son of the Béruriers Noirs and great hope of the French post-punk scene, the Oi Boys were expected this week in the Witloof Bar.

In the dampness of this cellar, Matthieu and his band started the show with violence with La Liste, a cold track from their first and only project, inspired by the great ones of the style. Accompanied by a band, the duo transformed into a quartet quickly takes power and even offers us some exclusivities that only augurs good for the continuation of the project.

The natives of Metz are all smiles between the pieces and the pleasure is shared, Oi Boys puts a sacred slap and for a first experience in the Witloof Bar, the show is guaranteed. “This song is about a breakup” as the previous one … will answer the crowd. It is true that the subjects often turn around the depression, the booze, the sadness but it is in a not moderate joy that the public tears off during all the set. Between hipsters, old nostalgic of the French punk and discoverer of young talents, the Botanique could enjoy a show all in sweat of a group which will make speak about him a long time. With their hit Sur La Place to close the show, the band doesn’t even have enough to provide us with another one, that’s how young the project is ! Yet they will play La Liste, twice as strong, twice as sad, twice as violent. Oi Boys, a band that deserves to go far, it hits, it hits, it feels good

It’s beautiful ! That’s what we hear from the fans who have come to gather at the bar to rehydrate from the heat of the Witloof Bar. The subtle post/cold mix of Oi Boys pleased us on the album, it made us capsize with a real rock energy that hit the spot!

Setlist Oi Boys: La Liste, Déjà Reine, Encaisse, Mortes Idoles, Dernier Dieu, 200km/h, Dernier tour, Reverberes, Seul Ensemble, Le Film est Mauvais, Sur La Place
