Arlo Parks has shared the fourth song from her new album, “My Soft Machine.” For this track, entitled “Pegasus,” she collaborates with the talented Phoebe Bridgers. The track is accompanied by a video directed by Bedroom at Compulsory Film.
About “Pegasus”, Arlo Parks said :
“‘Pegasus’ is about experiencing the warmth and lightness of good love for the first time, It also explores how the absence of chaos and the presence of real connection can be a little bit terrifying after a long time of not having it.”
About the clip she adds :
“The desert landscape has always had a special place in my heart, the scorched land, the dust, the sense of absence. Films like Gerry, My Own Private Idaho, and Paris, Texas all use the desert as its own character representing isolation, nostalgia and the journey to a place outside of yourself. Bedroom did an incredible job of meshing surreal dreamscapes with real intimacy to make one of my favorite music videos I’ve ever made.”
The song ‘Pegasus’ follows the previous releases of ‘Weightless‘, ‘Impurities‘, and ‘Blades‘. All these tracks will be featured on the forthcoming album “My Soft Machine,” which is set to be released on May 26 via Transgressive Records. You can pre-order the album here.
Arlo Parks will be on tour in Europe in September, with a show at Ancienne Belgique scheduled for September 15. Tickets for the show are available on the venue website.
