The Weeknd has unveiled his latest single, ‘Popular,’ featuring Madonna and Playboi Carti. This catchy pop track offers a taste of his highly anticipated soundtrack, The Idol Vol. 1, slated for release on June 30. Notably, ‘Popular’ marks the artist’s second release in anticipation of the upcoming HBO series, The Idol. The first was his track ‘Double Fantasy,’ a collaboration with Future, released back in April.

In the accompanying music video, viewers are treated to scenes of the cast of The Idol, including Lily-Rose Depp and Abel Tesfaye, also known as The Weeknd, frolicking amidst the glamour of the Cannes Film Festival, where the series premiered last month. An excerpt from ‘Popular’ was even broadcasted during the festival and has since been circulating on social networks. The Weeknd had previously hinted at the collaboration by sharing a screenshot of himself engaged in a FaceTime call with Playboi Carti.

The Weeknd is set to embark on a European tour this summer, with two exciting stops at Brussels’ King Baudouin stadium. While the first show, scheduled for July 11, has already sold out, fans can still secure their tickets for the additional date on July 12. Tickets for the show are available for purchase on the Live Nation website.
